New! Storybooks by Emma Cavill Photography

I am delighted to launch a brand new product offering today - “The Storybook”.
This 20 page, 8x7” softcover book, will now be a standard offering as part of my photoshoot fee, with the option to purchase more copies (for Grandma
I know from feedback, that many of my clients struggle to choose just a few of their favourite photographs for prints and frames (probably because I always take way too many photo’s!) so I have decided to add this as part of the overall offering, to ensure my clients get the most out of the photoshoot
For more information, or to book a photoshoot - contact Emma to discuss your requirements.

Kaizen PT
01/07/10 13:01 Filed in: Commercial | Portraiture
Last week I travelled back up to Reading, to photograph my old Marketing Director, who has also recently changed careers! Sara is now a Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor, and is setting up her new business, Kaizen PT, which she needed some pictures for.
The weather was gorgeous, so we headed out to the countryside to capture some yoga poses outdoors. We had a lot of fun, and I even managed to make Sara pose on one leg in the shallows of a river (revenge for all those reports I used to have to pull together at the last minute!!
)
I wish Sara all the best with her new venture, and can’t wait to see the website once it is up and running with all the pictures from our photoshoot

The Maxwells

Having moved recently to beautiful Somerset, I have been delighted to meet and photograph a few local families already
The Maxwell family live in the same village as me, and have a beautiful house near Hestercombe Gardens.
Their Grandmother lives in South Africa, and their mum wanted me to capture some photo’s of them all so that they could give some photo’s as a gift during her next visit.
I have to say, these kids are some of the most fun I have worked with! I was still smiling whilst editing the photo’s after the shoot! Thanks Charlotte, Jessica, and Bradley for being such good fun!

I photographed Noah in July last year, so it was lovely to go and meet him again a couple of weeks ago! He is such a happy and contented boy, and was an absolute pleasure to work with! Who can resist those gorgeous blue eyes?

These wonderful clocks, coasters, and candle holders, are by my little sister, Nikki, who has set up a shop on Folksy selling her recycled creations
She also has a blog at noon28
Nikki says: “I love all things design and have a passion for making things from ‘scrap’ that I find. I get a certain satisfaction from steering clear of high street retail chains and think the more bespoke, custom and individual the product is, the better really”
Her materials are sourced from fallen timber, broken or redundant products and any other found material she can salvage from in and around the farm she lives on, that would otherwise be destined for scrap.
We had a really good photoshoot capturing the creations, on location in our mum’s kitchen! I am looking forward to photographing more of her work over the coming months.
Good luck with the new shop Nikki Noon!

I recently photographed little Austin here, who was a real character! He has the most adorable dimples, and had plenty of smiles for me
Rhianna, Caitlin, and Holly
10/05/10 15:50 Filed in: Portraiture | Kids

I recently had the pleasure of photographing these sisters, who were great fun!
Luckily the weather was good - the sun was out, and it was warm, so we went for a wander and got some lovely photo’s outside - which makes a change from the indoor shots i’ve been doing over the winter!
Thanks Rhianna, Caitlin, and Holly for being such brilliant models, and making it such a fun photoshoot
Eddie

Happy Friday everyone!
Last but not least, here is my nephew Eddie, younger brother to George and Ava. Eddie is a real little character, as I hope you can see from this set of photographs. We had great fun on this photoshoot, and when Eddie saw me photographing George’s new Converse trainers, he had to have a feet shot too - bless him
Ava Rae

Meet Ava, my beautiful Neice.
Ava is at that age where silly faces in front of the camera are the order of the day, and she is great fun! A real girly girl, fave colours are pink and purple, but also a bit of a tom boy I think
I am very much looking forward to her 5th birthday party later next month, when we are having a big family get together back in Somerset. No doubt the camera will be out to capture more silly faces from the birthday girl.
George

Here is a little set I put together, featuring my nephew, gorgeous George
George has been a willing model for me ever since I picked up my first SLR camera, when he was about one! I have never tired of photographing him - he has his mum’s beautiful big blue eyes, and such an expressive face.
He was very pleased to show off his new Converse trainers, which he bought with birthday money from his Grandma. Very cool George.
Oh, and the tunes playing on his iPod that day were mostly Rhianna as far as I remember!
George, Ava, and Eddie

I’m just back from spending a couple of days with my gorgeous Nephew’s and Niece. Realising I haven’t got too many recent photograph’s of them, I thought I would take the opportunity to capture a few while out on a walk yesterday afternoon. I couldn’t resist uploading this, as I was pleased to have captured all three of them together.
I do enjoy photographing children when they are out and about playing, and being themselves, and think you get a much better idea of their character this way, rather than with posed studio images.
George, Ava, and Eddie are such fab kids, I love them dearly. Looking forward to Ava’s 5th Birthday weekend next month!
Ellie
09/02/10 10:11 Filed in: Portraiture | Kids

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing young Ellie, a charming aspiring actress, who needed a set of headshot portraits for her portfolio. We had a really good photoshoot, capturing lots of expressions, and lots of fun!
Although the weather was not brilliant, we did venture out into the garden, and Ellie had a bit of a break from all the posing to get some fun action shots as shown here
Best of luck with your future acting career Ellie - you are a star already
NCT Group Photoshoot
05/02/10 14:26 Filed in: Portraiture | Kids

A few weeks back I was invited to photograph an NCT Group that a couple of my clients are part of, and I jumped at the chance! It was lovely to join all the lovely mum’s with their gorgeous babies for a cup of tea and a chat, and to take all their photo’s of course!
All the babies were fab models and we didn’t have any tears during the individual shots. I did come up with a crazy plan to put them all down together and get a few images, but the moment the idea came out of my mouth, I knew I had just suggested chaos! We went for it though, and I did get a few cute shots - although the chaos I predicted was correct!!!
Anyway, great fun all round
Mother's Day Special Offer
03/02/10 09:15 Filed in: Promotion

I’m very excited to be launching a special offer for Mother’s Day, throughout February and March!
The photoshoot can be for the whole family - or simply with the children if Mum would prefer not to be in any of the pics... although I may try and sneak one or two in, as I promise Mum will be glad I did
Get in touch to find out more about the offer, and to get a date booked in for the perfect Mother’s Day gift...

January has been a busy month for Emma Cavill Photography, meeting lots of new people, as well as visiting a couple of regular clients
A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take part in a photoshoot with the brief to capture ‘before and after’ shots for an Image Consultant who, among many things, specialises in colour analysis.
It was fascinating to see what a difference the right colours made! We also had a lot of fun in the studio, so many thanks to Alison for hosting, and to all the lovely models for their enthusiasm and cooperation!
This is one of my favourite images from the shoot, not one that was for the brief, but Harriette and I had a bit of time to play around with some poses, and I Iove the slightly cheeky feel this one has.

Earlier this week I braved the snow to travel out to meet Claire, an HR consultant, who needed some headshot portraits for a new website. We had a lot of fun during the photoshoot, and I got to play with a bit of off-camera flash as it was such a dark grey day.
Thanks Claire for being such a great model, and I wish you the best of luck with your consultancy business
Toby
05/01/10 12:54 Filed in: Portraiture | Kids

Meet Toby, a young baby I had the pleasure of meeting last year. When I arrived at Toby’s house, his Mum told me he was quite shy, and was not always very smiley around people he didn’t know... however Toby sat quite happily while I photographed him, and didn’t cry once! A very content baby, and the perfect model.
I really enjoyed capturing the interaction he had with his Dad in the picture on the left, and love his expression on the right as he is just about to break out into a smile
I am looking forward to seeing Toby again this month, and meeting some of his friends at his Mum’s NCT group - more to come on that soon!
The Joint Clinic
21/12/09 20:41 Filed in: Commercial | Portraiture

Last month I had the most amazing opportunity to photograph the consultants at a private practice, called the Joint Clinic. The brief was to create a catalogue of images of the surgeons, the clinic, and the staff, for the website, newsletters, and brochures.
I spent 3 days meeting the team, and shooting on location - even involving me having to get into scrubs to shoot the action in theater! It was an incredible experience, and I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to everyone at the Joint Clinic for being so welcoming and helpful, and for putting up with me and my camera
Saffron and Stanley

A few weeks ago I met Saffron and Stan for a photoshoot back in Somerset. The weather was pretty awful, but we did eventually get a break in the rain to go outside after a few shots taken indoors.
These two had endless energy and enthusiasm, making the photoshoot brilliant fun - thanks Saffie and Stan!

It was fantastic to get some sea air
Storage Expo
27/10/09 10:53 Filed in: Commercial

I recently undertook a commercial shoot to capture my client, Symantec, and their presence at Storage Expo 2009.
Symantec really stood out at the event, with their ‘Stop Buying Storage’ message being very visible on the stand itself, and it was great fun capturing the ‘demonstrators’ dressed in yellow, getting the message across to all the delegates arriving at Olympia!
Callum and Dillon
08/09/09 20:34 Filed in: Portraiture

This collection is from a recent photoshoot with two lovely brothers, Callum and Dillon.
After some fun on the trampoline, they led the way to their local park for some more action shots. They played really well together, and made my job pretty easy!
Thanks boys for being fab models, and such fun
Charlotte, Oliver, and Donald
04/09/09 11:51 Filed in: Portraiture

This week, I had an amazing shoot with Charlotte and Oliver, and all their lovely ponies, dogs, and stable cat! We had a brilliant time - really lovely to work with such a range of models!
Thanks Charlotte and Oliver for being such good fun.
Mr. and Mrs. Green

I had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie and David’s wedding at the weekend, and what an amazing day it was!
The ceremony took place in the picturesque church in the village of West Monkton, followed by a fabulous reception at Stephanies’ parents farm, where everyone gathered for champagne in the garden, and a delicious wedding breakfast in a marquee.
Even the sun came out to join us in the late afternoon, and we all partied until the wee hours, with no one around to hear the revelry apart from the dairy herd
Noah
29/07/09 20:21 Filed in: Portraiture

This is Noah, and I had the pleasure of meeting him and his family last weekend. We had a really great shoot, so thanks to Hannah, Andrew, Maisie and Noah for making my job such a lot of fun!
Jack

This is Jack, my 6 month old Cocker Spaniel. I love this picture of him as it really captures the intensity of his expression. He is a working Cocker Spaniel rather than the show type, and you can really tell, as he is constantly busy and wanting to play!
Green Fields

Ah, the summer... where did it go? My youngest sister came to stay with me a couple of weeks ago and we were lucky enough to have some lovely summer weather. This was taken on a walk we went on up in the Chiltern hills with Jack, my puppy, and our camera’s
