Downes House

downes

Back in August I had a bit of an adventure at Downes House in Devon. One of my commercial clients is a land agent, and I often get called out to photograph various houses, farms, barns etc. but this project was a bit different!

Downes House has been in the Buller and Parker family since it was built some 300 years ago. The house pulls together aspects of the history of this country, and the history of the local area. One of the ancestors, Sir General Redvers Buller, has a fascinating history, outlined comprehensively in the museum room, and won a Victoria Cross in the Anglo Zulu war.

The family are currently updating the website, and putting a brochure together, hence the need for some photograph’s, which I was more than happy to help out with! I had an amazing day exploring the house and grounds, and meeting the Parker family, who were charming and incredibly welcoming Happy I wish them the best of luck with the website, and hope to see it live soon Happy
